Question

How should allergic purpura be treated effectively?

Answer

For allergic purpura, in addition to standard treatment, medications or treatment methods such as azathioprine, cyclophosphamide, cyclosporine, dipyridamole, plasma exchange, high-dose intravenous injection of immunoglobulin (IVIG), danazol, or fish oil can be combined. For severe allergic purpura nephritis, the treatment plan may include methylprednisolone pulse therapy, oral prednisone, cyclophosphamide treatment, and dipyridamole treatment. Recent research shows that adult patients with severe allergic purpura can achieve good results with the use of corticosteroids and plasma exchange treatment.
