Question
My baby has been crying and fussing a lot lately, and doesn’t eat much. What should I do if my baby refuses formula milk?
Answer
It’s possible that your baby has become accustomed to the taste of breast milk and has adapted to the shape and softness of your nipple, so switching to formula milk might be uncomfortable for them, leading to their refusal to breastfeed. First, you can buy a simulated nipple at the store, then express your breast milk using a breast pump and add it to the prepared formula. For the first time, you can use more breast milk than formula. Gradually reduce the amount of breast milk and increase the formula until it’s all formula. This will help your baby go through a better transition process. You can also feed your baby formula between two breastfeeding sessions; usually, within 5-7 days, the transition can be done smoothly.
