Question
The baby has been crying constantly and doesn’t eat much. What should we do if a 6-month-old baby lacks vitamin D?
Answer
Generally speaking, if a baby lacks sunlight exposure or is bottle-fed, it is recommended to start supplementing with calcium from one month old and continue until around 2 or 3 years old. Three months ago, it was suggested to give the child cod liver oil supplements, and the mother should also supplement with calcium. After three months, the child can appropriately supplement with calcium and cod liver oil, but be careful not to overdo it.
