Question

Is it better for babies to take the polio vaccine sugar pills or get injected?

Answer

The polio vaccine currently comes only in the form of sugar pills. Newborns need to be vaccinated with BCG and hepatitis B vaccines, with the second dose of hepatitis B vaccine administered at one month and the third dose at six months. Babies between two and four months old should take the sugar pills to prevent polio, and they should receive the DTP vaccine at three to four months and the measles vaccine at eight months. Additionally, there are paid vaccines available for preventing colds and autumn diarrhea.
