Question
The child is now 4 and a half years old and has mild epilepsy. Is cerebellar electrical stimulation helpful?
Answer
The indications for cerebellar electrical stimulation therapy for epilepsy include: 1. Patients with generalized refractory epilepsy who are difficult to control with long-term medication; 2. Patients with seizure types including tonic-clonic seizures (major seizures), myoclonic seizures, and minor seizures; 3. Patients with definite electroencephalogram (EEG) abnormalities, with an IQ of 70 or above; 4. Patients with prolonged epilepsy seizures, who have been examined and ruled out intracranial space-occupying lesions.
