Question

Yesterday afternoon, I noticed that my baby seemed unwell. That night, I took his temperature and it was 38.5 degrees Celsius. I used a fever-reducing gel and his fever subsided immediately, but it came back shortly afterward. I measured his temperature again and it was 39.1 degrees Celsius. I tried to induce sweating by wrapping him up, but he didn’t sweat at all. An hour later, his temperature was 39.6 degrees Celsius, so I took him to the hospital for a fever-reducing injection. He also had some diarrhea, but it wasn’t particularly loose. The doctor prescribed Bifidobacterium Live Bacteria Tablets, Transfer Factor Oral Solution, and Ibuprofen. After returning home, his fever subsided. However, the next morning he was fever-free but by evening he started to have a fever of 38.4 degrees Celsius again. What’s going on? Why does he keep having a fever?

Answer

Recurring fever is commonly seen in the early stages of conditions such as purulent tonsillitis, pneumonia, enteritis, brain infections, and other infectious diseases. It is recommended to be hospitalized for a thorough examination to determine the exact cause before further tests are conducted. Ensure adequate hydration and increased fruit intake, rest well, and consider physical cooling if necessary.
