Question
Can children with hand, foot, and mouth disease eat meat?
Answer
After treatment for hand, foot, and mouth disease, if there are no other complications, the prognosis is usually good, and most patients can recover within seven days. The main treatment approach is symptomatic treatment:
- First, isolate the patient and take disinfection measures when in contact with the patient to prevent the spread of the disease.
- Treat oral hygiene issues. For patients with severe blisters and ulcers in the mouth, solutions of Ciprofloxacin or Montelukast can be used to rinse or apply to the affected area. Montelukast paste can also be applied to ulcers after meals using a cotton swab.
- Keep clothes and bedding clean and wear comfortable clothing that is regularly changed.
- Trim the nails of the child and, if necessary, tie their hands to prevent them from scratching the rash.
- Apply medication to the skin rash in the early stages. If blisters have formed or broken, use appropriate other drugs.
