Question
What causes growing pains?
Answer
Growing pains often manifest as pain around the child’s knees, front of the thighs, and front of the lower legs. The primary reason is that the bones grow too quickly, causing the surrounding muscles, tendons, and nerves to grow slower, leading to pulling pain. Before taking a nap in the evening, you can soak your lower legs and feet in warm water, and for more severe pain, localized massage can also be effective. Solutions usually involve cold compresses and massage at the site of the regional pain, increasing physical activity recently, and avoiding severe activities as much as possible.
