Question
What symptoms are associated with prenatal Down syndrome?
Answer
Down Syndrome usually does not have any obvious symptoms during pregnancy. A Down syndrome test is needed to make an approximate assessment. If the test shows a critical or high risk, further tests like non-invasive prenatal DNA testing or amniocentesis may be required to confirm any chromosomal abnormalities. If chromosomal abnormalities are confirmed, it may not be possible to save the child, and an early termination of pregnancy may need to be considered. If these tests are normal, there is no indication of Down Syndrome.
