Question
How should children with intellectual disability be treated?
Answer
Intellectual disability, also known as developmental delay, refers to children whose intellectual levels are significantly lower than those of their peers. Children with this condition often exhibit poor performance in activities and language. This includes delays in motor skills, such as sitting, standing, and walking, as well as in language development. Some children may not be able to speak or engage in activities until they are four, five, or even ten years old. Their understanding, computational abilities, memory, and observational, predictive, and imaginative thinking skills are also delayed. Additionally, their social adaptation skills are also affected.
