Question

What causes ADHD in children?

Answer

Neuroscience and pharmacological studies have found an imbalance in neurotransmitters within the brain, such as abnormal dopamine and norepinephrine function, and an increase in serotonin levels in the patient’s blood and urine. Some scholars have proposed the dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin (5-HT) hypothesis for ADHD, but no single hypothesis has been able to fully explain the etiology and pathogenesis of ADHD.
