Question

Is it growing pains? How should growing pains be handled?

Answer

If a child has pain in a specific area of one foot, an X-ray should be taken to rule out bone inflammation or other skeletal conditions. If the pain is not localized, it may be physiological pain, known as growing pains. Growing pains usually do not have a fixed location and X-rays and blood tests often show normal results. It is recommended to rest and gently massage the area to relieve pain. At the same time, appropriate amounts of calcium and Vitamin AD supplements can be given. If the pain persists, it is advisable to undergo further examination to rule out other diseases.
