Question

Can pediatric leukemia be cured?

Answer

The criteria for leukemia remission are that the original immature lymphocytes are below 5% for hematological remission; chromosome negativity is defined as cytogenetic remission; and gene negativity is defined as molecular remission. Currently, even if it exceeds molecular remission, one cannot be certain of leukemia cure, as leukemia cells above 0.0001 cannot be detected, and there are still a large number of leukemia cells in the bone marrow, requiring continued chemotherapy.
