Answer

For a baby with diarrhea, oral administration of Simethicone and probiotics can be considered, along with continued observation. If there is no improvement, a stool test can be conducted to determine if there is a bacterial or viral infection. Bacterial infections require oral antibiotics. Viral infections do not require oral antibiotics, and the course of the disease is generally about one week. If the baby appears to be in poor spirits or shows signs of dehydration, such as very little urine, it is advisable to seek medical attention at a hospital.
