Question

My baby is 28 weeks and half a year old. She was just diagnosed with hand, foot, and mouth disease yesterday and has a fever. She’s allergic to penicillin. We’ve given her Aqueous Gentamicin and antiviral medication, as well as digestive vitamins. Her mouth and tongue are so painful that she’s crying and not eating. What should we do?

Answer

Hand, foot, and mouth disease does not require penicillin. I suggest you still take the little one to the hospital for a check-up. It would be better if she could be admitted for observation, as the general condition of young children is not very good.
