Question

Why won’t children talk? My child is 1 and a half years old and still can’t speak. I often teach him, but he doesn’t follow along; he only knows how to call ‘Mama’ and ‘Dad.’ What could be the reasons, and will it affect them in the future?

Answer

Normal language development is related to many factors, such as genetics, hearing, environmental education, and intelligence, which are interconnected. Therefore, there are significant individual differences in language development. It is recommended to provide your baby with a single language environment, slow down the pace of speaking to your baby, and read stories to them more often. Encourage more and criticize less. At the same time, allow your baby to have more contact with the outside world.
