Question
I’ve had a bit of a stutter since childhood, and now it’s gotten worse, almost every sentence I say is stuttered, and sometimes I can’t even finish a whole sentence. I want to ask if stuttering can be improved?
Answer
Stuttering is not a disease; it is mainly caused by psychological stress and poor speaking habits developed later in life. To improve stuttering, medication alone is not enough; it requires psychotherapy, language training, breathing regulation, oratory training, and the development of good personality traits. Don’t feel inferior; you should communicate more with others, participate in more social activities, practice tongue twisters, recitation, airflow control, and articulation coordination, and adjust your mood and emotions with positive thinking. Maintain a positive, confident, and upward attitude, and when necessary, you can undergo correction training under the guidance of a professional doctor.
