Question

My daughter is now six months old. Recently, she has been frequently vomiting and has an increased frequency of bowel movements, up to three to four times a day. The color of her stool is dark green, and she also cries at night. Her appetite is not good either. I am currently giving her the “Healthy Child Digestive Powder,” twice a day, half a packet each time. However, the effect is not good. What are some effective methods?

Answer

There are many causes of diarrhea in young children, and in most cases, it is due to various pathological reasons, such as: eating unclean things that lead to enteritis caused by pathogenic bacteria or viruses; consuming spoiled milk or other foods that cause gastrointestinal inflammation, leading to vomiting and diarrhea; gastrointestinal dysfunction due to other systemic diseases; or when a child cannot adapt after overeating or undereating, improper addition of complementary foods, weaning, or sudden weather changes, resulting in digestive dysfunction. In some cases, a child’s diarrhea is not related to illness, and there are no other abnormal symptoms besides diarrhea.
