Question
“I am 36 years old and have been feeling unwell recently. Sometimes I feel dizzy during the day, which affects my work, and I can’t sleep at night. The medication I’ve taken doesn’t seem to work. What medication should be used for a baby’s puffy navel?”
Answer
“The current symptoms suggest an umbilical hernia, which is caused by the baby’s weak abdominal wall muscles and the intestines protruding through a weak spot when abdominal pressure increases. As the baby grows older and the abdominal muscle strength increases, this condition can naturally disappear. Since the hernial ring is relatively wide, it usually does not become incarcerated, so there is no need to worry too much. Simply press on the navel area when the baby cries or has a bowel movement to prevent it from protruding. If the protrusion becomes progressively larger, use an abdominal band to apply pressure.”
