Question
What tests are needed for hand, foot, and mouth disease?
Answer
For children with hand, foot, and mouth disease, examinations are particularly important. The examination program is comprehensive, and after the onset of the disease, routine blood tests are required. The white blood cell count of the child is usually normal or slightly reduced, while in children with severe illness, the white blood cell count will significantly increase. Blood biochemistry tests are also conducted, and some children may exhibit elevated levels of aspartate aminotransferase (AST), mild alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and creatine kinase isoenzyme (CK-MB).
