Leukemia is not a hereditary disease or a contagious one, so if another child has leukemia, there is no risk of infection for your child. One of the early symptoms of leukemia is persistent fever, which is usually not relieved by antipyretic and analgesic medications. Additionally, blood routine test results may show an abnormal increase in white blood cell count, and some children may also experience an increase in lymphocyte count.
