Question

My son is 6 years old and has had some abdominal pain since last week. He doesn’t want to eat anything he sees, and his stomach sounds like a drum when tapped. This week, he started having diarrhea, several times a day, and it’s all water. Why does pediatric diarrhea happen when supplements don’t work?

Answer

It could be because the child has weak gastrointestinal absorption, leading to imbalanced gut flora. Sometimes, exposure to cold can also cause vomiting. It’s recommended to apply heat compresses to the child, massage the navel area, avoid eating cold and cool foods, and focus on a light diet. Avoid eating meat and greasy foods, drink plenty of water to promote gastrointestinal motility and aid absorption. If necessary, it’s suggested to go to a regular hospital for relevant checks.
