Question

A 6-month-old baby cannot lift her head, can roll over, and has normal appetite. There are no significant abnormalities, but she sometimes trembles. What could cause pediatric hyperactivity?

Answer

The baby’s behavior may not yet be fully regulated and could be related to parenting methods. However, to rule out the possibility of hyperactivity, it is recommended that parents take the child to a pediatric neurology department in a children’s hospital for an electroencephalogram (EEG) and brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), especially for a 24-hour dynamic EEG test. If the test results are normal, it may just be that the behavior has not been fully regulated, at which point appropriate behavior regulation is needed.
