Question
A 6-month-old baby cannot lift their head, can roll over, has normal appetite, and shows no significant abnormalities, but sometimes shakes. What are the treatment methods for facial palsy?
Answer
Generally, treatment needs to be based on a comprehensive evaluation and rescue using acupuncture or a combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine. However, it is not possible to refer to evidence of the effectiveness of the treatment.
- Guizhi and Eel Soup: After removing the head, bones, and internal organs of the eel, wash and slice it. Add a small amount of Poria and Codonopsis, wrap them in gauze, and boil in water for about an hour before removing. Add the sliced eel and seasonings, then cook until done. Eat in portions with meals, drinking the soup and eating the fish. Suitable for facial paralysis.
- Fresh Lychee Tree Root Water: Use a small amount of fresh lychee tree root, add a certain amount of water, bring to a boil, then pour into a large earthen jar. Cover with several layers of cloth and seal the mouth. Steam the affected area for about four hours each evening.
