Question
What should be noted after glaucoma surgery?
Answer
Patients with glaucoma should pay attention to the following after surgery:
- Avoid overexerting your eyes, and take a break to gaze into the distance for 10 minutes every 30 minutes to 1 hour to relieve eye strain.
- Limit fluid intake, and avoid drinking coffee and strong tea, as they may cause intraocular pressure to rise.
- Quit smoking and drinking, and consume more vegetables and fruits while eating less spicy and irritating food to keep the bowels regular.
