Question
A child’s eyes are always watering, and they often cry. What are the clinical manifestations of primary angle-closure glaucoma?
Answer
Early-stage patients with primary angle-closure glaucoma often experience moderate eye swelling after excessive eye strain, which resolves on its own after rest and deep sleep. However, this condition may gradually become more frequent and recurrent, especially during acute episodes. If left untreated or improperly treated, it can progress into a chronic condition. Early-stage primary angle-closure glaucoma can be strictly treated, but if it becomes chronic and incurable, surgical treatment may be necessary.
