My child has had hand, foot, and mouth disease three times within a year. I want to know if this is a recurrence and whether it’s due to incomplete treatment in the past two instances. I also want to inquire if the child’s zinc, iron, and anemia are related to this condition.

Hand, foot, and mouth disease can have recurrence, but usually the symptoms are mild. Blisters and rashes typically resolve within a week and leave no scars. If there are no rashes on the child’s extremities, you can be slightly more at ease.
