The hospital did not provide disinfectant upon the baby’s discharge, and the parents forgot to purchase it. It was only two or three days later that they remembered to clean the umbilical cord, bought disinfectant, and cleaned it for two days. However, the umbilical cord still became inflamed and showed yellow pus. After taking the baby to the hospital for a check-up, the doctor suggested that cleaning with disinfectant at home should help improve the condition. But after five days, the umbilical cord had not shown any improvement. What should I do?
