Question

What is the normal armpit body temperature for a baby?

Answer

Infants generally have slightly higher body temperatures than adults, but the normal range is still between 36~37℃ (measured under the armpit). Temperatures exceeding this range are considered feverish; below 38℃ is low fever, above 39℃ is high fever. A body temperature of 40℃ or higher poses a life-threatening risk. Fever is often caused by infections, including bacterial, viral, or other pathogen infections, and may also be due to abnormal body temperature regulation or skin heat dissipation.
