Question

How to handle a child’s testicular hydrocele?

Answer

Testicular hydrocele may not be fully absorbed at birth and typically resolves on its own before the age of two. If the fluid has not receded by the age of two, needle aspiration can be considered around the ages of four to five, or surgical treatment can be performed after the age of six. Additionally, one can opt for the injection of stimulating drugs or undergo a high ligation surgery at the internal ring hernia neck. For congenital hydroceles that cannot be treated with the aforementioned methods, surgical treatment is primarily recommended.
