Question

How to Cool Down a Baby’s Fever?

Answer

When a baby has a fever, parents can take the following steps to help cool the baby down:

  • Use a warm towel to Apply to forehead and wipe the baby’s arms and chest and back.
  • When the baby’s fever reaches above 38.5℃, you can give the baby children’s fever-reducing medicine such as acetaminophen, tylenol, and children’s Tylenol, but it must be taken according to the doctor’s instructions.
  • If the baby shows symptoms like cold hands and feet, shivering all over, or purple lips while having a fever, stop physical cooling immediately and seek medical treatment. Please note that parents should not use fever-reducing medication blindly, as this may delay the disease. If the baby has a persistent high fever that does not subside, in order to prevent febrile convulsions, it should be sent to the hospital immediately for medical assistance.
