Question
Can hypophosphatemic rickets be alleviated?
Answer
Vitamin D deficiency rickets is a common pediatric disease, a chronic nutritional disorder, accounting for 95% of all rickets. This disease is caused by systemic calcium and phosphorus metabolism disorder due to vitamin D deficiency in children, resulting in calcium salts usually not depositing in the growth part of the bones, leading to eventual skeletal deformities. Its main feature is incomplete mineralization of the pituitary or bone tissue in long bones, or bone softening, most often occurring before the age of 2.
