Question
What Are the Manifestations of Fetal Chromosomal Abnormalities?
Answer
Fetal chromosomal abnormalities typically do not present with obvious clinical symptoms during pregnancy. However, for the fetus, they may manifest as abnormal results from Down syndrome screening, non-invasive DNA testing, or amniocentesis. Additionally, some organ malformations or defects may be detected through fetal systematic B-ultrasound. If you have already received a clear diagnosis of fetal chromosomal abnormality, it is recommended to consult a genetic counseling clinic, as continuing the pregnancy is not advisable in such cases. If termination of pregnancy is not pursued, the child born may face issues such as intersex conditions, feminization in males, or masculinization in females.
