I’ve had blurred vision in my left eye for about ten days. Tests and thorough examination results: glaucoma. Previous treatment situation and effectiveness: Currently undergoing treatment, what kind of help is needed: Hi expert, how is it treated, and will the inflammation in my left eye affect my right eye?
Answer
The treatment for glaucoma involves reducing or controlling intraocular pressure, forcing aqueous humor to drain out. Therefore, depending on the etiology and pathogenesis of glaucoma, medication or surgical treatment can be chosen. For primary open-angle glaucoma, medication treatment is a must, initially using beta-blockers to inhibit aqueous humor production, such as 0.5% timolol maleate, 0.25% betaxolol, etc.; if intraocular pressure control is still unsatisfactory, add mydriatics such as 1% pilocarpine to widen the spaces between the trabecular meshwork and enhance the drainage of aqueous humor; for primary angle-closure glaucoma, surgical treatment is a must once diagnosed.
