Question

My child has been diagnosed with epilepsy, and I’m especially worried about their physical health. So, how is pediatric epilepsy treated?

Answer

The treatment for pediatric epilepsy must be regular and standardized. The manifestations of epilepsy are diverse and varied, so treatment cannot be one-size-fits-all. Surgical or external treatments may not be effective in controlling seizures, especially when there are clearly defined unilateral regional lesions or cortical abnormalities that can be surgically removed. Do not rush to change or add medications if the anti-epileptic drugs have not yet reached their maximum therapeutic concentration or the maximum blood drug concentration.
