Question

What are the causes of pediatric nephrotic syndrome?

Answer

The causes of pediatric nephrotic syndrome are not very clear at present, but it is widely believed to be related to recurrent infections, particularly respiratory infections. Generally, individuals over 10 months old can be affected throughout their lives, up to old age. In very young patients, it is often genetic congenital kidney disease, which is a special type. The cause of primary nephrotic syndrome is not yet clear. Experimental results indicate that autoimmune mechanisms, particularly cellular autoimmune changes, may be associated with the onset of the disease.
