Question

What is the normal range for newborn jaundice levels?

Answer

For newborns, a jaundice level of around 0.8 is considered normal. Typically, as long as the jaundice level is kept below 0.28, the baby can be discharged without further treatment. Newborns usually develop jaundice within 2 to 3 days after birth and it naturally subsides around half a month later. If the jaundice does not disappear after half a month, it may be necessary to consider whether it is a pathological case of jaundice.
