Question

How should elevated jaundice in newborns be treated?

Answer

If the jaundice level is elevated, it is recommended that you give your child oral silymarin for treatment, or use blue light therapy, or even use sunlight lamps, but be sure to cover the child’s eyes, or expose them to sunlight for half an hour each day, avoiding direct eye contact. Make sure to give your child plenty of water. Both sunlight exposure and blue light therapy generally have no side effects. Pay attention to hygiene and bathe your child daily. Keep them warm and dressed warmly to avoid catching a cold. After successful jaundice treatment, there are usually no side effects.
