Question

How long does neonatal jaundice typically last?

Answer

Jaundice comes in different types, including physiological jaundice, pathological jaundice, and jaundice caused by breastfeeding. The duration of disappearance varies for each type. It is recommended to first determine the type of jaundice your baby has. Generally, a newborn’s jaundice begins to fade after 5 to 7 days following birth. Breastfeeding-related jaundice may last for 2 to 3 months. Wishing your baby a quick recovery!
