Question
What should Bell’s palsy patients pay attention to in their diet?
Answer
During the acute phase of Bell’s palsy, patients should avoid going out and, if necessary, wear sunglasses and a mask when they do. During the recovery period, precautions should be taken to protect the posterior auricle and the forehead and face on the affected side, avoiding heat to prevent decomposition. Early Bell’s palsy patients should perform circular massage on the affected side with their palms, three to four times a day, for 10 to 15 minutes each time. For patients who cannot close their eyelids completely, frequent eye drops and antibiotic eye ointment should be used to prevent keratitis.
