Question

Is it easy for children to develop pneumonia after a cold? Can pneumonia be diagnosed using a stethoscope?

Answer

Pneumonia or bronchitis can be initially diagnosed using a stethoscope by examining the lung respiratory sounds and dry-wet rales. For pneumonia, there are usually fixed wet rales, and combined with blood routine results, it can be determined whether the infection is viral or bacterial, allowing for appropriate treatment. Unless the treatment is ineffective, it is not recommended to frequently use chest X-rays or pulmonary CT scans, as these tests have radiation. Wishing the patient a speedy recovery!
