Question
My child has a cold with cough and a sore throat with small blisters, and I’m not sure how to treat it.
Answer
It is normal for a child to still have a cough after receiving an intravenous infusion, but the cough should ease up. This kind of cough may last a month, but if the child is in good spirits and it doesn’t affect eating or sleeping, you can just let it be. Use dietary adjustments and a balance of rest and activity to alleviate the symptoms. If there is phlegm, it should be expectorated. I personally believe it’s best to avoid cough medicine. As long as the cause of the cough is found and treated, the cough will gradually improve.
