Question

What medications can be taken to treat facial paralysis?

Answer

Facial nerve palsy, also known as facial neuritis in medical terms, is often attributed to wind and cold. During the acute phase, oral administration of vitamin B12 and other nerve-nourishing medications can be taken. In the acute phase, a small amount of medication such as prednisolone tablets (with caution for side effects) can also be used, but treatment should primarily be based on physical therapy and acupuncture. Don’t worry, the efficacy will not be very noticeable; usually, improvement can be seen after a month, and some individuals may recover completely within three months.
