Question

How should I treat my child’s persistent cough?

Answer

If your baby has been coughing for more than a week and the symptoms keep coming back, it may be due to incorrect medication, chronic pharyngitis, allergic cough, or a mycoplasma infection. It could also be a manifestation of bronchitis or pneumonia. Firstly, make sure your child drinks plenty of water, find the cause and treat it accordingly. Avoid eating extremely cold, spicy, or greasy foods. You can use a nebulizer inhaler or undergo routine blood tests, mycoplasma antibodies, or chest X-rays. Symptomatic treatments such as anti-infection and clearing the lungs and cooling the blood will be more effective.
