Question

Can children with cerebral palsy speak?

Answer

Cerebral palsy typically develops before birth or during infancy, caused by factors such as birth injuries, baby jaundice, and brain hypoxia. Symptoms mainly include increased muscle tone, difficulty with movement, and in severe cases, muscle rigidity, convulsions, and joint contractures. Milder symptoms may manifest as limited fine motor skills in the hands and walking on tiptoes. These patients often have concurrent language development and articulation disorders, with about one-third experiencing varying degrees of seizures and intellectual disabilities.
