Question

My son started showing signs of inattention and restlessness in class in July 2018. His teacher reported that he couldn’t concentrate and was always moving around. I noticed that his memory and concentration were not good either; he was only able to form complete sentences at the age of 5, having previously only been able to say single words. Are these symptoms of ADHD? What tests are needed if one suspects their child has ADHD?

Answer

ADHD is not a temporary condition; it can have various negative impacts on children. Therefore, once these symptoms are detected, parents should take their child to a regular hospital for treatment as soon as possible. Treatment involves cooperation between the family and school, educating the child, and supplementing with appropriate medication. Both are essential, and it’s also important to show concern for the child to build confidence in the treatment outcome. Wishing the patient a speedy recovery!
