Question
My daughter’s body seems to have recovered, possibly from hand, foot, and mouth disease. To confirm if she has truly recovered, what are the indicators of recovery from hand, foot, and mouth disease?
Answer
If hand, foot, and mouth disease reappears, it is more likely that the blisters will reappear as well. Generally, this is believed to be caused by a viral infection, at which point a virus test can be conducted. If there is a recurrence of high viral loads, oral antiviral medications can be used for treatment. If the disease gradually recovers and symptoms disappear along with a good mental state, it indicates recovery. In case of a recurrence of hand, foot, and mouth disease, isolation treatment is required.
