Question

Does facial pain occur during the recovery period of facial paralysis?

Answer

The recovery period of facial paralysis typically does not see a recurrence of facial pain. Facial paralysis may present with muscle atrophy again, and in severe cases, may lead to symptoms such as drooling at the corners of the mouth, difficulty eating, and a series of other symptoms. Initial treatment can include wind-relieving and blood-activating medications to effectively alleviate the symptoms of facial paralysis. Acupuncture can also be used to directly stimulate acupoints, further alleviating the symptoms of facial paralysis.
