Question

How severe is congenital vascular malformation?

Answer

As the name suggests, congenital vascular malformations are vascular anomalies that form during the growth and development process. Clinically, limb vascular malformations are more common. We refer to them as Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome, which primarily manifests as limb thickening and growth, accompanied by regional skin redness and decreased temperature. Some patients may also have varicose veins. Clinically, special attention should be paid to this small group. Do not operate based on the visible varicose veins on the body surface, as common varicose veins can be easily treated surgically; otherwise, symptoms may worsen postoperatively.
