Question

What are the typical symptoms of pediatric epilepsy? What should children do after an epilepsy attack ? What are the early symptoms of pediatric epilepsy? I want to see a doctor. Thank you.

Answer

Generally, seizures that only involve the face, hands, or legs are known as partial motor seizures. In complex partial seizures, patients may start to feel a strange sensation originating from the stomach, leading to hallucinations or distortions of smell. They may see things around them change shape or color. Early-onset pediatric epilepsy patients may lose part of their consciousness and be in a state of confusion. They might gaze at others listlessly, ignoring their surroundings, or unconsciously chew, lick, rub their hands, undress, or frantically touch objects nearby. They might also exhibit fear, faint smiles, anger, or even laughter and crying.
